Our dogs have come to expect their “dessert” in the evening. It’s our fault – we’ve conditioned them. We’ve been buying organic dog treats to give out at dessert time, but why not make them, instead…and pack them full of goodness?

The group of 10 ducklings are now nearly three weeks old. And, almost a week ago, we added 6 more!
We’ve wanted to add pastured pigs to the lineup for a while, but didn’t feel ready for them. After doing some research, we decided it was time…so meet the pigs!
The first hatch is over, and we have 15 fluffy chicks. As with nearly every hatch, there were highs and lows, but we’re very happy to have a solid start on a new laying flock!
The weather has been strange lately: it went from very cold and snowy to unseasonably warm (mid-70’s!) with severe winds and thunderstorms in the span of a few days. Around here, you just roll with it. Once it begins to warm – even for a brief spell – the plants awaken and the landscape greens rapidly.
