The goose eggs are nearly three quarters of the way through incubation. Today, I candled to verify continued development and weighed the eggs. I also visually checked the air cell development.

Our lovely ladies have been laying, reliably, so I was able to collect a dozen huge eggs in short order. With luck and lots of hand-turning (and misting and cooling), goslings will emerge in a few more weeks!

It’s hard to believe that the Pilgrim goslings are one week old already. They’re growing fast, experiencing new sights, sounds, and snacks (greens), and most of them are very good about keeping up with the group when we take short walks on the farm (there’s always one laggard…usually preoccupied with something and not paying attention). I figured I’d better get an update posted before the littles are all grown up!
Just a quick update on the goose egg incubation: they’re doing great!

The hatching season is off to a strong start here on the farm, as we rebuild our poultry and waterfowl flocks. We’ve incubated many types of eggs (chicken, duck, guinea fowl, goose), but goose eggs are among my favorites!
