Can you even believe that these are the same baby birds? I know that one day very soon, the nest will be empty because they will have fledged. We wish them the best in their journeys and hope they’ll come back to build their own nests next year.

Now that the chickweed wine‘s been bottled, a sampling is a must!

Sometimes, just when you think you can predict how your day’s going to play out, you find out you’re wrong…and in a very surprising way. And when it happens, it shifts your perception in a way that can really be recharging.

It’s that time of year again: daylilies are blooming. I see them in yards, along the road, and, best of all, growing in several spots on my own property. And those fiery orange blooms are just asking to become a unique country wine!

As we moved the pigs to new pasture today, I had a chance to get a look at the Northern Mockingbird nest, hidden in a tangle of greenery on the fenceline. Can you believe how much they’ve grown?
