I found a snail in the duckling swimming tub (it’s deep enough for them to swim in, but shallow enough to prevent drowning) this morning. At first, I thought it was just another slug, but something caught my eye.
It was the snail’s shell, in my vision for a brief instant as I filled the tub, that gave me pause. Did I actually see a shell? I fished around in the tub until I found it – and it was, indeed, a snail!
After a brief trip across my hand, moving so smoothly and lightly as to be barely noticeable, I placed the snail on a shady leaf to continue on its way.
